Every CDL, every med card, every insurance cert — one dashboard.

DOT compliance is the iceberg under every carrier. A driver med card lapses on a Thursday; the driver is out of service Friday; the load is uncovered Saturday. Keelway tracks all 11 driver + truck compliance dates in one renewal calendar, with tier-based alerts that surface on the operational dashboard 90 days out.

Drivers

CDL, Med Card, MVR, Drug Test, Hazmat

Five compliance dates per driver. Med Card and Drug Test are the most frequent renewal cycle. CDL and Hazmat are the longest cycle. MVR runs annually. All tracked on one calendar.
Trucks

Insurance, Registration, IFTA, IRP, 2290, Inspection

Six compliance dates per truck. 2290 HVUT runs annually (filed July). Annual Inspection is straightforward. IFTA decals renew January 1. Insurance and registration vary by carrier policy.
Tiers

Expired / 30 / 60 / 90

Anything expired is P0. ≤30 days is urgent. 31-60 is planning window. 61-90 is heads-up. The widget on the operational dashboard surfaces counts across all four tiers; the module drills to specifics.
Documents

Upload per renewal, retain for audit

Insurance cert PDF, med card scan, MVR result, drug test result, inspection report. Attach to driver or truck. Accessible at roadside, in DOT audit, for insurance carrier review.

Frequently asked questions

What does the compliance module track?+

Driver-side: CDL, Medical Examiner's Certificate (Med Card), DOT-required Drug & Alcohol test, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), Hazmat endorsement where applicable. Truck-side: Insurance certificate, Registration, IFTA Decal, IRP credentials, 2290 HVUT, Annual DOT Inspection. Trailer-side: plate expiration. Everything in one renewal calendar with tier-based alerts.

How do the alert tiers work?+

Four tiers per document: Expired (any expired document is a P0 alert; the asset is technically out-of-service), ≤30 days (urgent — secure renewal), 31-60 days (planning window), 61-90 days (heads-up). The operational dashboard surfaces counts across all tiers; the compliance module is the drill-down.

Can we upload renewal documents?+

Yes. Document uploads per renewal — insurance certificates, med card scans, MVR PDFs, inspection reports. Documents attach to the driver or truck record and stay accessible for roadside inspectors, auditors, and insurance carrier audits.

What about the FMCSA's Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse?+

Clearinghouse queries are tracked per driver with the query type (annual vs. pre-employment) and the consent record date. Direct API integration to the Clearinghouse is on the platform roadmap; today, query results upload into the driver record for audit reference.

CSV export?+

Yes. Full compliance roster export with every document's expiration date, current tier, and document attachment URL. Used most often by safety managers preparing for a DOT audit or by external compliance consultants doing periodic reviews.
